Hi! I’m Amanda.
Thanks for stopping to take a look at my art. I am thrilled you are here. I am originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but now live in Dothan, Alabama with my husband, three children, and our rescue “Wally”. I have had a passion for art ever since I can remember and feel so grateful to be able to spend every day doing what I love.
I graduated from Auburn University in 2001 with a degree in Interior Design. I worked in interiors until my first child was born when I began painting at the kitchen island during nap time. I entered road side shows, took my work to local shops, and gave it to friends as gifts. Over twelve years and thousands of paintings later, my kitchen island hobby has turned into a full time career, and I am convinced that I have the best job in the world.
I would describe my work as abstract realism. I enjoy painting everyday objects in a way that translates movement and life. “Perfection is boring” is my motto, wanting my work to look lived in and loved. I mostly work in watercolors but occasionally dabble in other mediums.
I love to work with “first time art buyers” and want the commission process to be easy and non-intimidating. Please feel free to email me today to talk about your painting.
